Violet
This flower caused me exposure issues! Initially, when using my spot metering, the photo was way overexposed. I know this happens sometimes with pinks, purples and yellows (at least those are the colors where I've noticed it the most). I had to really underexpose this to get the color I wanted.
Lens: Nikon 60mm f2.8 Micro
Focal Length: 60mm
Aperture: 5.0
Shutter Speed: 1/320
ISO: 100
Aside from a tiny bit of sharpening, this one is straight out of the camera! :)

Sunday Six 2.0: Week 16
For this week's Sunday Six I have all garden photos. Yesterday I woke up way too early. It was a bit cloudy, so I headed down to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. By the time I got into the gardens around 9:30 or so, it was already a bit too sunny for a lot of outdoor photos. I managed to grab a few decent ones though.
Southern snow! I didn't think to check out what sort of tree this is, but we have white ones and pink ones that cover the sidewalks and roads with buds.
This is new at the garden, although I'm not quite sure of the exact theme behind the sculpture.
A pretty, green fern. I really liked the punchy green of this photo.
This one took several shots, but I finally managed to get a decent focus on the drops. I have another very similar photo that I'm posting for the Virtual Photowalk.
Until next week . . .

Sunday Six 2.0: Week 15
This week I have a Recap Six from my dive certification trip to Ponce De Leon, Florida. Ponce De Leon is a very small town which is home to Vortex Springs.
First task of the day was breakfast!
There were lots of ducks around the restaurant, including these cute little ducklings!
Vortex Springs is one of Florida's many freshwater springs. It's very popular with scuba divers and many dive shops in the southeast use the springs for their certification divers.
The water is very clear and a balmy (ha!) 68 degrees.
While diving in the springs I spotted a baby turtle, lots of carp, and two freshwater eels.
After four dives the first day (including a snorkle dive, sans wetsuit!), a group of us made a quick stop at Ponce de Leon Springs State Park.
After completing two additional dives on Sunday, I am now officially certified as an open water diver!
Until next week . . .

Sunday Six 2.0: Week 14
This week has been so crazy that I'm way behind in posting Sunday Six from last week. These were all taken last Sunday.
Lake Lanier is metro Atlanta's main source of drinking water. This time last year, the lake was well below full pool and there were major water restrictions. This lake is at the center of the Tri-State Water Wars between Georgia, Florida and Alabama. Currently, it's exepected to be at full pool before the end of May.
Pretty pink buds on a tree.
This was taken at the Buford Dam which is just to the left of what you're seeing here. This is also the start of the Chattahoochee River. I love the reflection in the water.
River rocks.
The majority of last weekend was spent in SCUBA classes. I am on my way being certified as an open water diver. I hope to have my certification finished this weekend with some dives in Vortex Springs, Florida. This is all in preparation for my upcoming trip to Curacao. I cannot wait!!
With a road trip this weekend I hope to have more exciting pictures for this week's Six, plus some of the April themes!
Until then . . .

Sunday Six 2.0: Week 13
Not a whole lot of excitement this week, so my Sunday Six is less than stellar. All indoor photos from today.
Yesterday I sliced my finger pretty good while washing a knife. These were the first band-aids I could find. They were in my Christmas stocking. I spent the rest of Saturday with hearts on my finger.
I've been working on a bucket list, of sorts, this week. Most of the list is travel related, but there's a decent mix of other things as well.
I also finished up my study questions for my open water diver certification. Class starts next week!
Fins. One of several items needed for SCUBA.
Pages of my SCUBA certification book. I thought the colored areas made for an interesting shot.
I pulled out my "Six Feet Under" DVDs this week. Such a great show!
Hopefully next week's Six is more exciting than this week! Until next week . . .
