Black & White (57 of 365)
This is Mei Lan. Mei is nearly 2 1/2 and was born at Zoo Atlanta. Isn't she beautiful?!
Zoo Atlanta works with the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, along with several other U.S. zoos (the National Zoo, San Diego Zoo, and the Memphis Zoo) in the hopes of restoring some of the giant panda population. Currently, it's estimated there are approximately 1,600 giant pandas in the wild.

And look, he is smiling for you! How cute is that! Great catch!! I want to see a panda some day, perhaps I will have to visit your zoo!
Wouldn't it be great if we could create a land where these endangered beasts could be allowed to live free.
Beautiful Panda pic! Live free,mm like fending for yourself, get your own food, no medical care, mmm?
I accidentally hit reject on this one from my Blackberry! Sorry:

Couldn't be better for the black & white theme, that's for sure!
Perfect for the theme. Fabulous capture.
I love her expression! She's really enjoying her bamboo breakfast, but she looks like she's smiling a big panda smile for you to take her picture! Great take on the theme! I love the photo.
She does look as if she''s smiling for you, such appealing animals.
