Interesting aside on Komodoes. I saw a doco that said apart from the bacteria found in thier mouths, scientists found Venom which started a study that uncoverd the fact that ALL Lizards tested have venom of some sort. The scientists in the doco said that it could be traced back to thier split from a snake common ancestor! Sorry I found that interesting and thought you would.
I do! I read an article about the same study! :)
Awesome trivia, guys! I like this shot too. You can almost feel his scales. Is this taken through extremely clean glass, or are you lucky enough to shoot over or around a barrier here?
It was through pretty clean glass and shot on an angle. :)
You did a great job on avoiding all the problems associated with taking photos through glass, the light really shows up his tough looking skin.
Awesome capture!
There is everything to love about this--the way the colors of the rocks and the dragon are the same; the way the gleaming scales stand out; the leisurely pose, the very NOT leisurely look in its eye...This is one great nature shot.
Love the colours and texture you have captured here...great shot
