Mama B
This is Betsy. Betsy is a Pit Bull who was abandoned during her last week of pregnancy. Her foster mom believes she was used as a backyard breeder. Within a few days of her rescue Betsy gave birth to 11 healthy puppies. There's no way to know how many prior litters Mama B gave birth to.
I've followed Betsy and her pups through Facebook and a webcam her fosters put up.
Since yesterday was World Spay Day, I wanted to share Betsy with all of you. I think this photo captures the essence of what World Spay Day is all about. There are a lot of pictures of Mama B and the pups (9 boys and 2 girls) on Facebook. Sadly, the webcam will only be up for a few more days as the pups head off to foster homes this week.
Thanks to her fosters, this will be Betsy's last litter of puppies. Now she gets to be spoiled rotten and finish her days playing in the lap of luxury. Betsy is a beautiful and sweet girl. She's sure to make her future owners very happy!
Is In The Details (47 of 366)
This is one of many beautiful floats from the Krewe de Orpheus parade during Mardi Gras. The Krewe de Orpheus was founded in 1993 by Harry Connick, Jr., and it is one of the largest parades at Mardi Gras. The parade rolls on Lundi Gras, which is the day before Fat Tuesday. There were 30 floats in the parade and each one was unique and full of little surprises.

Children's Toy (44 of 366)
A Czechoslovakian marionette puppet. My Mom bought this for me in former Czechosolvakia. She was there in 1990 just a few years before the country was dissolved.

Milk Carton (39 of 366)
I grew up on Mayfield milk. It probably didn't hurt that one of their dairy farms was about 20 minutes from where I lived. Mayfield is known for its bright, yellow carton.

Fast (37 of 366)
This is Baby Remy. Remy was brought to Zoo Atlanta after his mother became ill. After successfully rearing two other foster Orangs, Madu, immediately took to Remy and they've been inseparable ever since.
The little guy is so cute!
He's also pretty fast already!

Beginnings (34 of 366)
I have a good friend who is heavily involved in dog rescue through her non-profit the Atlanta Underdog Initiative. They specialize in the rescue of Pit Bulls and Dogo Argentinos.
Recently, they rescued a beautiful Dogo Argentino mama and her 8 puppies from a shelter in Maryland. They suspect the papa was a Labrador. She took me to visit them and I snapped a few pictures. Aren't they adorable? Here, they are 3 weeks old and already huge!

Sweetwater Brewing Company's official logo. While it's not known everywhere, it's certainly an iconic image for those of us in Atlanta.
