Reading Material (210 of 365)
A glimpse of the book I'm currently reading, High Crimes: The Fate of Everest in an Age of Greed. It's pretty interesting so far and discusses many of the tragedies, thefts, violence and hoaxes that have recently occurred on Mount Everest.

Sunday Six: Week 30
Hello!
This week we have a pretty basic Sunday Six. It isn't at all exciting and mostly consists of things around the house.
A crooked shot of the tunnel going through Buckhead. Here, I'm headed north.
Part of my lunch today, a yummy salad with lettuce, fresh herbs, and a few other mix-ins.
This show is all sorts of awesome!
This plus garlic, white wine, veggie stock, parmesan cheese, and chopped veggies turns into this . . .
Yummy risotto!
This is part of my roof. I now live in what used to be an old high school gymnasium. Listening to the sound of the rain beating down on the roof is wonderful, and it makes me very mellow and sleepy!
Until next week . . .

Sunday Six: Week 29 (Atlanta Botanical Garden Edition)
All of this week's photos were taken today during a quick morning trip to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Lots of pretty things to see and the weather was perfect! Unfortunately, everyone else in Atlanta thought it was a good day for the garden, too! Needless to say, since it was so crowded I didn't stay too long.
A water lily surrounded by pretty lilypads.
Close-up of a bright, pink cosmo.
A view of midtown through the art of Henry Moore.
A beautifully colored water lily! I love this one!
A resting dragonfly, with a little bokeh.
And . . . I happened to spot this green spider while I was trying to get a couple of macro shots of another flower. I have no clue what type of spider it is, but I'm glad I wasn't too close!
Hopefully more variety to come next week!

Relaxation (196 of 365)
As you can imagine, I've been pretty stressed lately between work and moving. Today was the first time in several weeks that I've actually had a chance to get out and take some photos. I decided to go to one of my favorite places . . . the Atlanta Botanical Garden. No surprise there, I'm sure! It relaxes me, and there are always new things to see.

Sunday Six: Week 28
I have another Recap Six this week, but nothing too exciting. Here they are in order by when they were taken.
Last Sunday night my aunt and cousin stayed with me. We went out to dinner and walked along the Roswell Square afterward. This piece of art sits outside an artists market, just down from the main square. He's a cute little baseball player, isn't he?
On down Canton St. from the artists market we stopped to wait while my cousin ran up to a store window to check the hours for the next day. I snapped this quick photo of the streetlight.
I had more family in town this weekend, 5 more members to be exact. This morning we met for breakfast. On my walk to the restaurant I spotted this piece of art. It's a peacock, I think.
I also spotted this pretty, tin flower outside the Red Door Playhouse.
Friday night we headed to Ikea to do a bit of shopping. I finally found a duvet cover that I liked for my extra bedroom. I wanted something colorful and with a bit of orange. I took a photo of it tonight after it came out of the dryer and was stuffed with my down comforter.
Finally, I needed some background noise while I worked getting things settled tonight. It had to be something that wouldn't distract me. I chose the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings.
Until next week, when hopefully I'll have more exciting pictures!

Earrings (192 of 365)
I bought these earrings at a shop in Denver last May. Allison, myself and another friend of ours met for lunch and walked around downtown for a bit. We all thought these Scrabble piece earrings were lots of fun, but I think I was the only one who bought a pair. I wear them all the time, and I get compliments on them nearly each time I wear them.

Sunday Six: Week 27 (4th of July Edition)
Lots of fireworks photos ahead in this week's Sunday Six! It's a Recap Six, but just barely. Although, I do have two warnings to go along with the fireworks shots. First, some of you may recall that I suffer from the long lamented short-photographer syndrome. Due to this, even with a tripod, you'll notice a few heads in the mix. Please ignore them! Second, there is absolutely nothing I could do about the very large, very ugly construction crane right in the middle of the fireworks display. I suppose those silly contractors refused to take it down! :)
Hope everyone who celebrates had a safe, and happy 4th of July!
Before the fireworks began . . . we had a little refreshment in the form of prickly pear frozen margaritas. Yum!
These shots were taken from a rooftop deck near Centennial Olympic Park.
We had a wonderful view of the downtown fireworks show.
Although I didn't get any shots of other fireworks displays, being in downtown Atlanta, you could see the fireworks from Lenox Mall, Stone Mountain, and some of the other outlying areas of Atlanta.
