366 Pictures: #121 Alcohol
This is a Damselfly. The ingredients are: grey goose pear, fresh lime, plum preserves, fresh ginger, barritt’s ginger ale, soda. It was very sweet, with a bit of a kick.

Only in Georgia . . .
This is one of those stories where you read the headline and immediately say, "Please, please don't let that be from [insert your city]."
Hopefully, the link will work. The ACJ is sometimes wonky about story access. If it doesn't work, the headline alone will make you laugh.
Teen Accused of Biting Butts at Wal*Mart
Seriously? There's nothing better to do down in Lovejoy? Oh, and it wasn't just once, they suspect at least 10 women! Sheesh!

Contemplation
I've been debating on the best way to write about some thoughts that have been floating around in my head.

366 Pictures: #335 Unusual
I think this might be my favorite of the pictures I took today. This is part of a glass sculpture on display at the High. This was one of the few that I forgot to snap a picture of the information card. There were several different smaller glass sculptures all fused together to make the full sculpture. I thought this section was very neat looking, almost like coral.

366 Pictures: #363 Delicate
I love stained glass. It's colorful, beautiful, delicate, and takes quite a bit of work. This is a stained glass window by John La Farge and it was originally created for the staircase landing of a private home. Could you imagine seeing this beautiful window every time you walked down the stairs?
Here's the entire stained glass window.

For those of you who were with me in NYC you may remember one particular installation at the Brooklyn Museum that fascinated me. Hew Locke's El Dorado (pictures are on the third row) is a mixed media portrait of Queen Elizabeth, however, it's made out of all sorts of crazy, lowbrow items. It's incredibly intricate and was probably my favorite piece of art at the museum.
So, imagine my giddiness when I saw this . . .
Okay, okay, it isn't the actual installation, it's a framed poster, but it's still incredibly neat. This is Vik Muniz's Kyber Pass, Self-Portrait as an Oriental, After Rembrandt (Pictures of Junk). All of the items were gathered from the streets and dumps in Rio de Janiero and assembled in an airplane hanger! Once the giant sculpture was all put together, Muniz took a picture of it from a crane.
How cool is that!? I've included a couple of the close-up pictures I took. They give you an idea of the sorts of things that make up the portrait. I thought it was a pretty creative twist on rubbish.

I'm Such a Dork . . .
Seriously, every time I start thinking or researching my trip to Puerto Rico I get one particular song in my head. I honestly have no idea why. The only thing I can think of is the one word they each have in common.
I'm going to link over to the song since my attempts to embed it resulted in my blog refusing to upload.

Please, please send help immediately!
