366 Update . . .

I'm in the process of watermarking another 20 photos taken today for 366. This means I only have 14 themes left to go!! I have a fairly good idea of what I'm doing for about half of those that are left. I should be posting them over the course of the next few days. A couple I have planned for New Year's Eve, so those will be posted around the first of January.

I'm excited that I've almost completed the challenge, but I'm also sad that it's ending. I'm currently trying to figure out if/what I'm going to do for 2009.

366 Pictures: #256 Timetable

Photobucket

What is on Miss Lucy's timetable for today? Nothing more than relaxation . . . and maybe a paw massage.

Date: December 25, 2008.

366 Pictures: #107 Donate

Photobucket

This house is located below where my Dad lives. Their decorations grow every year. They've definitely surpassed Clark Griswold. :) There's a mill with a waterfall on the other side of the house and Christmas carols playing over a radio frequency. The rainy weather prevented them from having a train ride which they'd scheduled.

I cannot begin to imagine what their electric bill runs this time of year. However, I do know that many of their neighbors donate money to assist them in paying it.

366 Pictures: #210 Magic

Photobucket

You may have heard about the coal ash spill in Roane County, Tennessee. It's actually fairly close to where I grew up. In fact, I spent Christmas Eve afternoon at a home less than a mile from the steam plant where failed retention pond was located. Twelve homes were flooded, one of which was knocked completely off its foundation. The whole area is in bad shape and covered in ashy sludge.

Signs like this were posted in and around the area. They're definitely going to need some magic in order for the area to be cleaned up from this mess.

Photobucket

A fence surrounding part of my Mom's Christmas village.

Date: December 27, 2008.

366 Pictures: #291 Emergency

Photobucket

Mom has a Christmas village as one of her many decorations. This one cracked me up. Evidently, there's a wreath-hanging emergency at the apothecary. :)

Date: December 27, 2008.

366 Pictures: #205 Generations

Photobucket

My Mom loves antiques. I bought her this old toy several years ago as a Christmas gift. Generations of ladybugs!

A step-ladder in Mom's kitchen.

Date: December 27, 2008.

366 Pictures: #323 Wheel

A carousel horse at my aunt's house. It's hard to see, but it's actually on wheels!

Date: December 25, 2008.

366 Pictures: #187 Broken

Photobucket

My windshield. Unfortunately, it got chipped by a rock on my way to Tennessee Tuesday night. I am not happy.

Date: December 25, 2008.

366 Pictures: #339 Borrowed

These are my Mom's earrings. I wore them practically the whole time I was at home this past week.

This morning's breakfast: ham and swiss cheese on a whole wheat bagel.

Date: December 28, 2008.

Photobucket

An angel ornament on our Christmas tree.

Date: December 24, 2008.

Photobucket

Not exactly a car, but pretty close.

Date: December 24, 2008.

366 Pictures: #123 Treasure

Date: December 25, 2008.

366 Pictures: #157 Carriage

My Mom used to collect teddy bears. She bought this carriage at some point to use as a display.

Photobucket

The balloon ride at White Water Atlanta.

366 Pictures: #319 Hand

Photobucket

This may be my favorite 366 picture, if only because of the look on his face. My nephew received these Hulk hands as a Christmas gift. Oh, the fun he had running around with those!

Date: December 20, 2008.

366 Pictures: #206 Bow

Photobucket

The prettiest little present under the tree. That bow might've lasted a total of 3 seconds!

Date: December 21, 2008.

366 Pictures: #263 Silk

How yummy does this look? I had my Mom take over stirring so I could snap this picture. We were making chocolate pies for our family dinner.

My Garmin GPS system, which, so far, hasn't directed me to drive into a lake.

Date: November 15, 2008.

366 Pictures: #174 Collage

Photobucket

This isn't the greatest picture, but I loved this picture for collage. This bus seat was part of an exhibition called "Seats for Social Justice: A Rosa Parks Commemorative Project" for which bus seats were designed by volunteers for Hands on Atlanta. This seat is on display at the Martin Luther King, Jr. historic site.

366 Pictures: #257 Charity

Photobucket

I snapped this photo as I was headed back to the office after an afternoon hearing downtown. This is from the top of one of the parking garages overlooking Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Central Avenue. The Georgia Capital is in the far left corner. The church in the foreground is The Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

The church was the first Catholic church in Atlanta and the building is one of the oldest in downtown. The church also houses St. Francis Table, a weekly soup kitchen which has operated for over 20 years.

Date: December 3, 2008.

366 Pictures: #310 Camera

Photobucket

I had planned on taking a photo of an old antique camera that my Mom has for this theme. However, while I was shopping today I ran across a large display of antique cameras. There were probably 10 or 12 of them. So, I changed my mind and decided to use them instead.

Date: December 13, 2008.

366 Pictures: #317 Help

Photobucket

This is Sunny and Buck. Sunny, while very sweet, tends to go after Buck like an irritating little sister. It's pretty funny to watch them play. I think her face in this picture looks like she's about to run for help.

Date: December 12, 2008.

366 Pictures: #278 Power

Photobucket

I was playing with my camera during my drive into downtown last night. This is just coming into downtown. While it's not the best picture, I really like the lights from the buildings and the other cars on the Connector. And, just in case you're not making the connection . . . lights, electricity, power.

Date: December 12, 2008.

366 Pictures: #132 Frown

Photobucket

Look at that sad face!

Date: December 12, 2008.

366 Pictures: #130 Sacrifice

Photobucket

Atlanta has great history all around the city. One of the places I'd never visited was the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site. It includes a museum with great exhibits, the birth home of Dr. King, Ebenezer Baptist Church, as well as Dr. King and Coretta Scott King's final resting place. One of the current exhibits is called "Memphis to Atlanta" which is a photographic chronicle of Dr. King's last days through his funeral in Atlanta.

Date: December 13, 2008.

366 Pictures: #290 Piercing

Photobucket

One of my new wooden earrings. I found them on sale today at a gallery shop.

Date: December 13, 2008.

366 Pictures: #17 Yo-yo

Photobucket

This is one of the better pictures I was able to snap at the Hawks-Knicks game last weekend. We won, although the score flipped back and forth a bit, hence the theme. ;)

That's our captain, Mike Bibby, front and center.

Date: December 5, 2008.

366 Pictures: #119 Map

Photobucket
